Sarkiz Mutafyan is a documentary photographer based between Bulgaria and the UK. His work revolves around themes of ethnic and cultural identity, nostalgia and belonging, as well as the microcosmic ‘small’ stories of individuals and their importance for the collective picture. 

In the past year his work has been featured on the LensCulture Magnum Photography Awards Gallery, exhibited within the UK and in Bulgaria during Night of Museums and Galleries Plovdiv, 2017.
